After winning the award for 'Best New Accessible Event' for the first Spectrum Festival in September 2018 and due to the huge demand for more than one Spectrum festival, we are proud to announce two full weekends of the Spectrum Festival in 2019.
We have also taken on board some of your fantastic suggestions from the first festival to implement them for future festivals.
Our main aim is to educate families, giving guidance, support and advise to all that need it, whilst providing a fun environment for everyone to enjoy themselves throughout the day.
In 2017 peaksGO approached Autism East Midlands and Lea Green Development Centre with an idea to run an event which would help to raise awareness for Autism whilst helping to educate and support people that need it. The event would also allow people with Autism and other disabilities to have fun in an environment where they can truly be themselves, whilst providing parents and carers a space to relax.
One of the founders of peaksGO has two young sons, both of whom have been diagnosed with Autism. By setting up peaksGO he wanted to achieve two things, to build something fun and successful that he could pass onto his children and use it as a springboard to spread the word about Autism and its many wonderful traits.
