Dads Weekend Round-up - Derby Days Out Blog
Date
16th August 2015

So following last weeks 0-0 draw with Bolton the football season was back in full swing and that's what makes me happy!

Happy in a way, and then a 2-1 defeat and poor display live on Sky Sports away to League 2 Portsmouth happens and the DDO household was a very unhappy place. A blip we were sure.

Saturday rolls around and the first game at the iPro is on. We took Lola to Alvaston Park to play football after lunch before making the short walk over the bridge to the Stadium.

As asked by the Club we arrived with loads of time to spare and soaked up the pre match atmosphere including all the new flags provided by the supporters club. DCFC is such a family friendly Club and I'd never think twice about taking Lola to a home game.

The result was 1-1 and I completely agree with Chrissy Martin that 9 times out of 10 we would have won that game. The math was played at a brilliant tempo with plenty of chances and talking points.

Class finish by Martin who never looks rusty. Man of the Match had to be George Thorne, the guy oozes class and I truly hope he stays injury free for this campaign.

This week Middlesbrough visit the iPro Tuesday night and we are on Sky once again (hopefully playing better) against Birmingham City Friday night.

Have a fab week everyone!
