We had the pleasure of being invited to the opening of the Derby Ice Rink 2015. Despite the pouring rain and driving wind it was amazing as it is every year.
Situated in the Market Place, Derby the ice rink has become a yearly staple of the Christmas calendar in Derby; now in it's 6th year!
We were a little late (thanks Friday night traffic!!) but arrived to the Mayor of Derby; Councillor Paul Pegg giving a speech about the City of Derby, Christmas and even sharing a couple of jokes with the school choir who were providing the live entertainment.
After the Mayor had announced the rink officially 'open' it was time to put our skates on. Well it was time for Mum and Lola to put skates on, Dad has been suffering with a footballing injury so stood aside with a hot chocolate on camera duty.
Once out the girls loved the party atmosphere out on the ice with music being blasted out from the tannoy so the rain and wind was soon forgotten!
Anyone in Derby City Centre should take half an hour to visit the rink with very reasonable prices for a bit of seasonal fun that is certain to get you in the festive spirit.
Have a fab weekend.
