The DDO Family's Experience

Due to our arrival time, we didn't see Santa as he has to go and tend to his reindeer at 4.30pm!

What we did do a lot of (after our safety briefing of course) was....JUMPING! We spent a good 20 minutes just playing dodgeball! Different players dropped in and out with us, it was all good fun. The staff are on hand if you need them and they keep a good eye on things. With a member of staff at each ‘station’ they seemed to keep the park nice and safe.

After dodgeball it was time to practice some skills on the 150 connecting trampolines! (Skills is a term used loosely especially when it comes to mum Natalie!) With bouncy walls, platforms to jump on to or jump off, a giant air bag, extra springy ‘professional’ trampolines and wall climbing areas – there’s plenty to explore. Having said that, if you just want to jump up and down (like Natalie) then that’s fine too.

There are lots of different ages, abilities, shapes and sizes which created a nice friendly atmosphere. Going at 6pm meant it was a little quieter than our previous visits which was actually very pleasant!

The staff seemed friendly, chatty and professional. They’re also very skilled when it comes to using a trampoline – we witnessed some fantastic tricks and stunts whilst we were there! At one point we stood with our mouths open (always a great look!) as a member staff walked so high up the climbing wall! Very impressive!

After lots of bouncing, flipping and seat dropping, we went for a game of basketball! Now this is great fun because you can bounce all the way to the hoop and use your jumps to get higher shots! (Have to just point out that 6ft 6” DDO dad was beat by 1.3m Lola! Hehe!)

Part of the festive snow scene

That was the hour up and our coloured wristbands kindly asked to make our way out. We collected our things from the free to use lockers and went for a cool down and drink (and a mincepie!) in the café area. This area is great because it looks across the whole park so if you wanted a break whilst the kids carry on jumping away, you can easily keep an eye on them. It’s also not behind glass so if the kids need you they can shout you! (Actually – not sure if that’s a good or bad thing haha!)

We also decorated our own Oxygen inspired Christmas decorations. They had all the coloured pencils and it was a nice way to wind down after all that exercise. Lola also wrote a letter to Santa and posted it in the special postbox. Lastly, she hopped in Santa's sleigh for a cheeky photo!

Lola is Santa's sleigh!

All in all we had a great time and great family fun at Oxygen Freejumping in Derby and we highly recommend it to other families.

Mum Natalie's Best Bit: "As 'mumsy' as this sounds, seeing Lola having such good active fun is my best bit!

Daughter Lola's Best Bit: "I loved playing dodgeball because being on the trampolines at the same time makes it great fun and also lots of different children join in which is nice."

Dad Adam's Best Bit: "Now I've mastered a slam dunk - the basket ball section is my favourite!"
