We had the opportunity to try the exciting, newly reopened Skyline High Ropes adventure course at Markeaton Park! Here's our pictures and our thoughts:
Located next to the Mundy Play Centre, you can't miss the high ropes course! It's big and exciting to look at and also made us feel a bit 'jelly legged!'
First things first, the safety harnesses, helmets and briefing were given by the friendly, knowledgeable staff. We all felt really safe, secure and in good hands thanks to this team of professionals.
And we were off! We started on the lower course to build up confidence. It was great and a good challenge. Dad struggled on the 'skateboard' but enjoyed it nonetheless! On this course there is no set route so you can go any way you like, meaning you can avoid the obstacles you don't like the look of! We were told to have as many goes as we liked until we felt ready to go up to the next level.
This is it! Up to the top course we go! We needed a different type of safety harness for this which we were given on the ground level and had plenty of practice to get the hang of it before we were 'let loose' on the course! The lovely staff continued throughout the course, each taking the time to get to know our names and checking we were ok.
We all absolutely LOVED the experience which lasted around two hours in total. We didn't get a picture of the leap of faith but that was also a highlight for us, especially the girls who had a few goes each and would probably still be there if we didn't drag them away!! We definitely recommend the adventure to other families as we had such a great time.
Please note that this is a true account of our experience. We cannot guarantee you will have the same experience as us but we hope you enjoy it as much as we did
