Every year we thoroughly enjoy the Babbling Vagabonds shows. We always leave with huge smiles on our faces and this year was no exception!
The story is easy to follow and with heartwarming messages, super sing-along songs, perfect puppetry and amazing acting! At just over an hour long it's the perfect show for younger children. However our almost teen loved it as well as the adults.
The whole family enjoyed the slap stick comedy and hilarious toilet humour! *Note to self: never feed a dino a brussel sprout!!*
Set in the beautiful, grade II listed Guildhall Theatre, this performance feels much more intimate that the bigger pantomimes. You're closer to the action and that gives it a really exciting feel.
The set is simple but with the clever use of the lights, sound effects and smoke machine, the cast transport us through a rundown hall, a squelchy marsh, a rubbish dump, a cool den, cosy home and an attic!
It's a lovely touch by the cast to allow photos with them at the end of the show. Unfortunately our 11 year wasn't so keen on the idea but lots of the other younger children relished the opportunity!
All in all, we had a ball! A fantastic, family friendly festive show which left us feeling full of Christmas spirit. Huge thanks to the Babbling Vagabonds and Derby LIVE for putting on these brilliant shows every year.
There are also British Sign Language shadow-interpreted performances, Audio Described performances and relaxed performances too.
Please note: This is a true reflection of our experience. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that you will have the same experience as us but we do hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
