For our little one's birthday we bought her a Pre-17 Driving Experience through Derby based company WrightStart. Lola has her lesson on Saturday 6th May and here's what we thought of the experience:
The car park in which the drives take place is situated on NorthMead Drive and is one of the Royal Derby Hospital car parks. If you head towards Aldi, you will start to see the WrightStart branded banners.
We were told where to park on arrival by a friendly steward and then headed over to the marquee for registration. The whole process is very organised and efficient.
We were told there were two drivers in front of us so we could take a seat in our car and the friendly member of staff would be over to us when it's our turn.
Here's what Lola thought before her drive:
DURING THE DRIVE
After being told it was our turn, we went over to meet Lewis who would be Lola's instructor for the session. We were left amazed by how quickly Lola started to drive after getting in the car. Not only that, some of the manoeuvers she performed were very impressive! Take a look at her driving skills in practice here:
Lola loved it and as parents we were very impressed at the experience and all that Lola got to do and learn during it. We loved watching her drive past us with the ease and confidence of a qualified adult driver! Lola said that it was an experience that she won't forget! Here's what else she thought:
As parents, we would recommend this experience. It could be really beneficial for those older teens who want to start driving lessons but are perhaps feeling a little nervous about it, this would be a great introduction to driving. Having said that, it's also great for a one off experience such as a birthday present like we used it for. Though something tells me that Lola will be back for more in the near future!
The whole experience:
was very well organised
had knowledgable, friendly staff and instructors
