REVIEW OF EREWASH MUSEUM BY DDO BLOGGER MEL!

Erewash Museum - High St, Ilkeston DE7 5JA

Erewash Museum is a little gem of a find in Ilkeston Centre. There is a small carpark over the road which is free for the first hour and cheap after that, or there is a carpark by B and M and there is a little short cut alley for 2 minute walk.

The museum is FREE and they have different rooms laid out from different eras like a sweet shop, kitchen and stable.

There is a small inside play area with some dress-up, dolls house and toys to play with as well as a outdoor space which is lovely in the summer. There's a little gift shop and lovely little cafe which is incredibly cheap.

The museum have regular events organised by a team of very friendly volunteers - we attended the February half term 'brick week' where they had different rooms for different ages. Big blocks for the small ones and lots of lego stations for the older ones! There was also a trail around the museum, competitions and arts and crafts. Sometimes you have to pay a little extra for the making things but everything else is free.

In the Summer they have a beach with all different crafts and activities like story telling throughout the holidays. It's well worth a look at their event schedule!
