Review of Titchy Town by Lucy! - Derby Days Out Blog
20th February 2020

Hi! My name is Lucy and I am Mum to Nancy (3 years) and Nina (6 months).

We love getting out and about in Derby, with all it has to offer. is our bible!

Most recently, with this AWFUL weather, and during half term, we decided to stay dry and visit Titchy Town - a play village located in Chellaston.

ADDRESS: Rowallan Way, Chellaston, Derby DE73 5WX

SUITABILITY: This a small, role play village suitable for children, in my opinion, up to the age of 6. It has a small, separate section for babies with toys and a baby bouncing chair.

COST: £5 per child, siblings £3, non-walking babies are FREE of charge.

PARKING AND LOCATION: You can park in the Scallywags (nursery) car park for free. To access Titchy Town, you need to completely walk out of the parking area for the shops. Turn left and walk along the road. Titchy Town is on the left. The gate remains closed until opening times for each session. There is usually a board outside to clearly mark its location.

FACILITIES: Seating for parents, hot and cold drinks and delicious cakes. Toilets and nappy changing. High chairs.

IMPORTANT INFO: The sessions last for 1.5 hours and are on a first-come, first-served basis. It is worth getting there a little early and waiting outside the gate. They can accommodate 25 children per session. There is currently no pre-booking and the whole venue is CASH ONLY.

REVIEW: Although very small, both of my girls really enjoyed Titchy Town. Nancy loved the village, especially the vets, shop and construction area. The toys were plentiful and of good quality. It was easy to supervise her whilst also encouraging independent play. 1.5 hours was the perfect length of time for the venue. Everywhere was clean, well-maintained and beautifully presented. The baby toys were age-appropriate and varied.
