Review: The Mini Maker Faire Derby 2016 - Derby Days Out Blog

The Derby Mini Maker Faire - Saturday 22nd October 2016

This year we planned to spend the whole day at the Derby Mini Maker Faire – and that’s exactly what we did. The crazy thing is that we still didn’t manage to do everything because there’s just so much to see and do!

It’s held at the Silk Mill and entry was £2 for adults if you pre booked online and under 16’s were free. Quite a bargain for saying we spent all day there!

Out on Cathedral Green (before you even stepped foot into the faire) was ‘Bubble Man’ who had a range of contraptions to blow the biggest, best bubbles you’ve ever seen! It was great to watch and even better that you can get have a go yourself.

Inside the Maker Faire was a whole host of exhibitors that are keen to tell you about their creation or let you have a go, look, taste, or try!

Here’s just some of the activities that we took part in:

We did a whole lot more and saw a whole lot more too!

Our daughter Lola is nine and she thoroughly enjoyed herself but us adults had great fun too. We highly recommend the Derby Mini Maker Faire to other families.

Thank you Mini Maker Faire and thank you Derby Museums and we look forward to next year!
