You've heard of it but what is it? Welcome to the wonderful world of Jumping Clay!
What is it?
Here at DDO we would describe it as a mix between plasticine and play dough! It's light and soft easy to shape and mould. Once you've made what you want to make, you leave it out in the open to dry and the next day it's hard which means you can keep your creation or give it as a gift! Lola has made keyrings, fridge magnets and models!
Here is the information taken from Jumping Clay's official website:
JumpingClay is a UNIQUE POLYMER CLAY that is light, smooth and easy to handle. And it bounces!! Children love it.
Jumping Clay in Derby
We have our very own Jumping Clay Academy here in Derby. They can be found at 77 Stenson Rd, Derby DE23 1JF.
What do they do?
We also brought one of these portraits as a quirky wedding gift - complete with their pet dog! Jumping Clay said they can take the portrait back at anytime if they 'add to their family'!
*Lola had her birthday party here just a few months ago and she and her all-boy guests loved it! They all made a football character to take home and had dominos pizza and sweet treats as their party food!
The staff were so helpful with the children, guiding them through each step but giving them enough independence so the kids could feel proud of themselves at the end of the party.
As for us parents, we sat in the adjacent parents room with a free cuppa and we can honestly say it was the most relaxing birthday party we've ever organised because we didn't have to lift a finger - Jumping Clay had it all covered! At the end of the party we had happy children, some great models and it was all stress free and totally relaxed! We highly recommend the Jumping Clay parties to anybody!
Can I buy Jumping Clay for home?
Yes! There's a range of Jumping Clay packs that you can purchase. We (DDO family) have the set of eight colours but remember you can mix the colours together to make new colours! Here's some of Lola's models that she has made with her own clay however we must point out turtle and dragon were made at the Jumping Clay Derby weekend sessions!
You can buy the sets from the academy, prices vary depending on which set you buy.
