Odd Egg Trail

11th - 18th April

Come along to this egg-themed trail during the Easter school holiday. Track down the clue cards to help you complete the activity sheet all about the weird world of eggs! Return to the Visitor Centre to receive a certificate.

Easter Egg Hunt Trail

3rd April to 18 April

Markeaton Park, Derby

Once you’ve finished admiring your Easter Eggs, celebrate the day with an Easter Egg Hunt Trail at Markeaton Park.

This year, to help you follow the latest Government restrictions and maintain social distancing, you can download your Markeaton Park Easter Egg Hunt Trail map at home from the In Derby website and follow it at a time to suit you.

The map will help you find six Easter Eggs hidden around the park. Write in all the animals you have found on the Easter Egg Hunt on the online form and submit your entry. All correct entries will be entered into a prize draw to win Mundy Play Centre vouchers!

Elvaston Golden Egg Trail

2nd April

10.30am – 3.30pm

Cost £4 per trail sheet

Join us and the Easter Bunny for some eggciting Easter Fun at Elvaston.

Hop on down and follow the famous Golden Egg Trail to claim a reward. Meet: Castle courtyards. Length: Less than two miles.

Eland Lodge Easter Egg Hunt

5th April

10am - 3pm

Eland Lodge Farm, Ashbourne DE6 5HD

£10 per person

A series of clues will be hidden around the Eland Lodge parkland, find all the clues and claim your Chocolate Egg Prize!

Everyone is welcome to this fun family day out! Come on foot, with your dog, or on horseback.

Please note:

Due to the large number of very young riders taking part no cantering or jumping is allowed, walk and trot only.

Dogs must be on a lead. Terrain difficult for wheelchairs/pushchairs.

All bookings to be completed online at elandlodge.com in advance of the event.

Specific individual timeslots will be allocated.

Easter Adventure Quest

29th March - 18th Apr

10am - 5pm

Bolsover Castle, Castle Street, Bolsover, S44 6PR

Crack the clues and search for the dragon eggs on our quest boards as you explore our outdoor trail around the castle. Intrepid explorers who track down the hatched dragon will be rewarded with a chocolate treat as well as a certificate.

You can start your quest at Bolsover Castle every day of the school holidays. It costs just £1.50 per child and this includes a handy pencil for your quest.

When you book your tickets, please select both a general admission ticket and also select the number of Easter Adventure Quest Packs you needed (these are listed as the last ticket option). Please select a quest pack for each child taking part including those under 5.

Easter egg hunt at Kedleston Hall

2nd April to 5th April (whilst stocks last)

Kedleston Hall, Derby DE22 5JH

Go on a self-led outdoor trail at Kedleston this Easter weekend to discover the signs of spring and explore as a family. 

The 1.7 mile walk has nature based questions and activities to complete as a family, and there is a chocolate reward too. The trail pack includes everything you need to take part – trail activity sheet, pencil, certificate and a chocolate egg (non-chocolate treat available on request as an alternative.)

Payment by card only - £3 per child/trail pack (Bookable entry to the parkland is from 9.30am to 4pm, the site closes at 5pm.)

Easter egg hunt at Calke Abbey

Trail packs are £3 each

Embark on a self-led adventure in the great outdoors, searching for nature-themed activities in the meadow, stableyards and garden. There's no set route for the trail, which means you can explore each activity at your own pace.

To get started, pick up your trail pack from the Ticket Office, which contains your Easter activity sheet and pencil. Don’t forget to collect your chocolate egg or allergen-free reward at the end of the trail in the Stableyards (eggs must be collected by 5pm).

Easter egg hunt at Hardwick Hall

2nd April until stocks run out

Hardwick Hall, Doe Lea, Chesterfield S44 5QJ

10am - 4pm (Hardwick closes at 6pm)

Trail packs cost £3.

Explore Hardwick and follow our Easter trail, completing spring fun challenges on the activity sheet as you go along. Spot the bees buzzing along, discover what spring plants are growing and see the lambs across the Hardwick parkland. At the end of your trail, pick up your chocolate egg or allergen free reward.

Please note: some of the Easter trail is in the gardens where assistance dogs only are permitted.
