We are delighted to be back for Tissington Well Dressing 2024!
Join us on the last three days of Tissington Well Dressing week as we bring you a selection of the finest makers from around the local region. Carefully chosen to take part in these special artisan markets.
Our focus on quality and originality ensures that each item comes with its own unique tale, offering visitors the chance to connect with the maker behind the piece and gain a deeper appreciation for their skill and dedication. At the Well Dressing markets visitors can explore a diverse selection of products from intricate gemstone jewellery and quilted textiles to traditional woodwork and modern floral arrangements.
Our venue, Tissington Village Hall, is located between the Town Well and the Yew Tree Well. You will find us directly across the road from the village duck pond, which is an ideal spot to watch the adorable ducklings. The building benefits from a Wi-Fi connection, which means many of our stallholders can accept card payments with ease.
A Cherished Local Tradition
This Peak District tradition has been a part of Tissington life for centuries and we feel very privileged to be a part of it. There are 6 wells in the village, each dressed with a design created entirely from natural materials including coffee beans, leaves and petals from local flowers. The dressings are erected on the eve of Ascension Day (Wednesday 8th May) and will remain in place until the following Wednesday evening (15th May).
